WHO WE ARE |
|
The Family Support Organization of Essex County (FSOEC) is a community-based, family-driven and family-focused organization. Since its inception, FSOEC has been dedicated to ensuring that families have a voice at all levels of the child behavioral health system of care. We provide peer support, education and advocacy for parents and caregivers of children who have emotional and/or behavioral challenges. Our goal is to empower parents and caregivers to take control of their lives by building on their strengths and supporting them where needed.
FSOEC ensures that families receive the support and education they need to become effective advocates for their children and to make progress toward their goals. "What makes our organization unique is that our peer-support partners have overcome many of the challenges the families we serve are facing."
Founded in 2004 with an emphasis on strengthening families, FSOEC works collaboratively as a system partner with child/youth service agencies in planning, organizing and delivering appropriate and necessary services to children and their families. We encourage public and private agencies to work together to strengthen families with the goal of keeping children safe and healthy in their homes and communities. |
